Levittown Home Destroyed by Fire, 4 injured
Yesterday, May 15, a home on Blacksmith Road in Levittown was destroyed by a raging fire that also left 4 to be hospitalized.
On Thursday, at around 8:30 PM, a levitt-cape style home, located at 45 Blacksmith Road in Levittown; started as a small fire but then turned into a fast moving inferno. A 69 year-old man who lives in the home was injured when he tried to put out the flames with a garden hose. The Levittown Fire Department arrived on the scene but also called in assistance for nearby departments to help control the flames. 3 firefighters were also injured last night with smoke inhalation.
Today, at around 7 AM, another call was made for the same home on Blacksmith Road. It seems that the heat from the first fire was so intense that it ignited a second fire hours after being put out. The Levittown Fire Department responded again and extinguished the second fire.
No word yet on how the fire was started. Although, a large amount of garbage and other materials horded inside the home made it difficult to put down the fire.
