The Town of Oyster Bay Parking Facility near the Hicksville Long Island Rail Road Station is closed until further notice.
On Tuesday, June 3, town officials decided to shut down the multi-level parking garage located off Newbridge Road in Hicksville. A town employee noticed a crack in at support beam and alerted his superiors. Yesterday, Engineers and local officials decided to air on the side of caution and close the 1,400 car garage, built in 1971.
About 120 LIRR commuters who parked near the cracked beam were forced to have their vehicles driven out by town employees. Other commuters were allowed to drive their vehicles out of the facilty.
The town has suspended all hourly parking within 1/2 mile of the LIRR Station, they are also directing commuters to park at Broadway Mall’s Southwest lot. Residents should expect crowded side streets and difficulty finding parking for local businesses.

Please be advised that the Town of Oyster Bay Parking Facility in Hicksville will be closed until further notice due to Structural Evaluation. Town Public Safety Officers will be on site to help commuters remove their cars from the facility.

Available Parking
Broadway Mall - Auxiliary Southwest lot opposite the Hicksville Post Office on West John Street. There will be a designated representative from Public Safety directing traffic.
All hourly restricted parking along public roads within a ½ mile radius of the Hicksville Railroad Station will be suspended.
All other restrictions shall remain in effect such as handicapped spaces, fire hydrants and “here to corner” restrictions.
Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses will be available at the Broadway Mall 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
