FEMA Updates County Flood Maps

The Nassau County Office of Emergency Management has recently received new preliminary flood maps from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

These new and updated digital flood maps help homeowners assess the probability of their flood risk. The proposed maps are to replace current maps which used data from 20 to 30 years ago. Tens of thousands of county and local homes have either been upgraded or taken off the flood zone maps.
