Rep. King Disgusted with Pres. Carter’s Trip

April 16, 2008

Congressman Peter King (R-NY3) is outraged and disgusted with former President Jimmy Carter’s trip to the Middle East. Carter is in the Middle East meeting with Hamas, a group that the US, Israel and the EU consider a terrorist organization.

Yesterday, April 15, in an interview with FoxNews, King called Carter a failed president now and 28 years ago. He went on to say that the former president is only trying to find a positive niche in history, but it’s sending the wrong signal to other countries that we are a divided nation. Also, his trip undermines President Bush, the United States and Israel’s authority in the region.

Rep. King is not the only one critical of Carter’s trip; on Monday, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee criticized the fellow Democrat along with dozens of representatives on both sides of the aisle.
